The Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) is an independent, nonpartisan and policy-oriented research institution that 1) monitors the social, economic and political trends that impact India's 'unity and integrity', 2) analyzes the causes of social and ethnic conflicts and the extremism they breed, 3) promotes dialoguing and interaction among conflicting groups; 4) critiques public policies and the workings of democratic institutions and constitutional bodies; and 5) provides benchmarks for good governance and efficient public institutions.
