The Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) is an independent, non-profit research center that is devoted to the study of the regions surrounding Pakistan, including South and Southwest Asia, China and the Indian Ocean region. It also studies and analyzes the policies of major global powers toward South Asia and covers a wide variety of research areas including foreign and internal affairs, economics, science and technology, socio-cultural issues and security matters.
