The Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) is a nonprofit think tank founded by presidential decree in 2007. Its responsibilities include 1) coordinating the various strategic studies being conducted in the country; 2) providing scientific-analytical information to high-ranking public administrative bodies within the government; 3) producing up-to-date and accurate analyses in the fields of politics, economics and security; and 4) informing policy makers and the public on the political, economic, security and developmental challenges confronting Azerbaijan.
