Founded in 1969, the International Institute of Human Rights is an association that works to promote and protect these rights through its research and training activities. More specifically, the Institute 1) strives to ensure the implementation of international human rights laws; 2) contributes to the growth of democratic regimes around the world; 3) identifies practices and policies which strengthen the protection of human rights at the European and international level; and 4) trains professionals to prevent rights violations.
