Main activities of the Institute for Balkan Studies (IMXA) include 1) conducting research into the history, archaeology, culture, international relations, economics, and other aspects of the Balkan Peninsula; 2) publishing scholarly studies and periodicals; 3) organising conferences and other academic meetings; 4) teaching the Balkan languages, Russian and Polish; 5) running Greek summer courses for speakers of other languages.
