The Los Alamos National Laboratory is a a Federally Funded Research and Development Center under the US Department of Energy (DOE) and such works to fulfill the DOE's missions in the fields of national security, science, energy and environmental management. It also performs work for the US Department of Defense (DOD), the Intelligence Community (IC), and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), among others. The Lab's work therefore also reflects US priorities spanning nuclear security, intelligence, defense, emergency response, nonproliferation,counterterrorism, energy security, emerging threats, and environmental management.
