The Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) serves as a regional forum for intergovernmental cooperation, focusing on democratic and economic development as well as greater unity between member-states. It aims to develop a Baltic Sea Region identity and intensify contacts supporting its further development while also enhancing societal security and safety in the region.
