Reporters without Borders is an independent organization that defends the freedom to inform and be informed. In particular, it 1) monitors attacks on the free flow of information worldwide; 2) denounces such attacks in the media; 3) cooperates with governments to fight legal and informal censorship; 4) morally and financially assists persecuted journalists; and 5) offers material assistance to war correspondents in order to enhance their safety.
