The Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI) is an open nonprofit organization supporting shared innovation in metadata design and best practices across a broad range of purposes and business models. It seeks to build and develop metadata standards, practices, policies and technologies which are applicable worldwide through activities such as working groups, conferences and workshops.
