The Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) is a nonprofit organization that uses legal means to protect the environment, promote human rights, and ensure just and sustainable societies. It pursues its mission through 1) legal research and advocacy, and 2) education and training programs, which focus on connecting global environmental problems to the experiences of 'communities on the ground'.
