The International Energy Agency (IEA) is an autonomous intergovernmental agency that examines energy issues and advocates policies that will enhance the reliability, affordability, and sustainability of energy. Its 29 member states focus on the four main areas of 1) energy security, 2) economic development, 3) environmental awareness, and 4) worldwide engagement.
