The Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies (IAPS), which is part of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), focuses primarily on Asia-Pacific politics, economic development, foreign relations, regional integration and cooperation, and social-cultural developments. (Note: As a research institute funded by the Chinese government, IAPS's programs are both academic and policy-oriented.)
