The Berne Declaration (BD) is an independent, nonprofit organization that works to establish more equitable relations between Switzerland and underprivileged countries. In pursuing this end, the BD adheres to the following values – equality and justice, respect for human dignity and human rights, solidarity, self-determination and participation, sustainable development, transparency and non-violence and peace.
