The UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara's (MINURSO) mission includes to 1) monitor the ceasefire in the Western Sahara; 2) verify the reduction of Moroccan troops in the Territory; 3) take steps with the parties to ensure the release of all Western Saharan political prisoners or detainees; and 4) reduce the threat of unexploded ordinances and mines. It has also been involved in providing assistance to irregular migrants as well as humanitarian help in case of natural disasters.
