The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) is an independent, pan-African organization that is indeed committed to promoting social science research on the continent, which involves; 1) creating a community of researchers; 2) protecting their intellectual freedom and autonomy; and 3) eliminating assorted barriers (linguistic, regional, generational, gender and more).
