The Urban Institute (UI) is an independent, nonpartisan research organization that's dedicated to analyzing the problems facing America's cities and their residents. Through its analyses, UI works to enhance community development and improve the social, civic and economic wellbeing of US cities, and secondarily urban centers across the globe.
