This paper outlines the potential for a grand agenda linking the US into pragmatic engagement with Iran on a variety of fronts and issues. The authors highlight the main contours of the debate about engagement with Iran, while pointing to diplomatic strategies and steps that the Obama administration might take to overcome obstacles to US-Iranian rapprochement. The paper examines Iran's regional role, its nuclear program, domestic and regional constraints as well as guiding principles for future engagement in more detail.
