This policy brief suggests an analytical perspective on the events in Bosnia and what can be done to prevent a return to violence. Within Bosnia, policymakers should strip political parties of their power base by setting an agenda full of unattractive administrative details. The article also discusses alternative government hierarchies. Regional politics should aim to accelerate the EU accession process of neighboring countries. The author concludes by placing the suggested strategy in line with earlier policies that have led to the creation of a non-nationalist government.
