Twelve months ago the Australian government released its new Cyber Security Strategy. So, how well has it been implemented so far, particularly when it comes to 1) establishing a strong cyber defense; 2) assuming greater global responsibilities and influence; 3) promoting growth and innovation; 4) enhancing Australia’s cyber expertise; and 5) creating a public-private leadership model for cybersecurity? The authors of this report believe that Canberra’s progress has been ‘encouraging’, although there have also been humbling revelations about Australia’s cyber posture.
