This eight-chapter volume addresses the issue of power-sharing in African post-conflict peace agreements, typically in the sub-Saharan region. None of the authors are naive with regard to the (side-)effects of power-sharing; some, though, are more hopeful than others. All provide food for thought and, hopefully, encouragement for the start of new research designed to both fill the wide gaps in our collective knowledge of power-sharing and come up with more suitable proposals for making the African continent a more peaceful one.
