This report presents the results of a public opinion survey carried out in the United States, Japan, China, South Korea, Indonesia and Vietnam examining the current and potential use of soft power in East Asia. Key findings of the report show overall poorer than expected perceptions of China’s soft power, indicating China has a long way to go to claim full recognition as a multifaceted power.
