This report focuses on resilience and analyzes how selected countries, such as the US, UK, Australia, Singapore, Canada, Germany and Israel, define and use the concept of resilience in the area of national security. Accordingly, the concept of resilience is analyzed separately in each country. The report also analyzes some recent efforts to come up with metrics and measurements to assess resilience both in academia and in national security policy, through the use of a number of pilot projects. Finally, the authors discuss possible lessons for Switzerland.
