The decision to phase out nuclear energy is of strategic importance for Switzerland. This paper looks at the country's options in energy policy after a nuclear phaseout. The paper argues that if the Federal Council’s “Energy Strategy 2050” is to be implemented successfully, a consensus on burden-sharing must be reached.
