This working paper addresses today’s main challenges in relation to discourses on Roma and Gypsy minorities in Europe. The authors summarize academic research and offer case studies on academic discourses on minorities in the EU. The paper also offers recommendations to overcome the challenges and proposes a comparative and socially constructed approach to research on Roma minorities.
