The 50th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty between Germany and France is a good moment for both nations to look back with pride at what has been achieved. Cooperation between the two countries has shown that differences can generate positive energy, rather than being purely harmful. And that an ever closer Union is by no means a synonym for conformity. Now is the time to work together to make Europe a better place. But how can this be done?
