In this report the author analyzes the security threat posed by natural disasters. He argues that localized natural disasters can have a globalized effect regarding diplomatic relations, economic security and social stability. He then frames the challenge posed by natural disasters in terms of US national security and gives recommendations on how to meet this challenge.
