In this paper, the author suggests possible objectives for France in Mali after having mainly achieved its initial motives for intervention. The author argues that France should attempt to prevent reprisal attacks by soldiers from the south, who make up most of the army, against the Tuaregs or Arabs in the north. He also believes that France needs to offer a solution to Mali’s political problems. This involves establishing representative leadership in Bamako.
