Over the past decade, the Persian Gulf States have made important strides in three security-related areas – strengthening their bilateral relationships with Western militaries, developing their own defensive capabilities, and integrating their armed forces. But can they do even more? This paper argues that by acquiring and applying different C4ISR capabilities, the States would be able to enhance their situational awareness, speed up their decision-making processes, and improve their capacity for decisive action.
