Australia fully appreciates the critical role that the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons plays in blunting the spread of 'nukes', and in promoting their eventual abolition. This paper focuses on how an updated commitment to the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initiative (NPDI) might resolve Australia's current problems.
