This bulletin examines the development of the India-Japan partnership over the past decade. The author writes that partnership is focused on security and economic matters, such as development loans (ODA), trade and investment in the Indo-Pacific region. However, beginning in 2000, and accelerating since 2005, the Indo-Japanese relationship has diversified to include a wide range of broader interests including counter terrorism, sea lines of communication, UN reforms, energy security and climate change.
