This paper talks about what the US can expect from Germany following the country's 2013 federal elections. It predicts that Germany's political status quo will not change significantly and that Germany will continue to change internally. The author also says that Germany will continue to play a leading role in Europe while increasing its engagement in other parts of the world, including Russia, the Middle East and North Africa, Latin America and Asia. He concludes by arguing that Germany’s proactive economic, foreign and security policy is in the interest of the United States as it aims to strengthen global stability, security and prosperity.
