This article discusses the political and economic ties between Mongolia and North Korea and how relations between the two countries may further develop. The author illustrates how diplomatic achievements by the Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj have created new possibilities for increased economic cooperation between the two countries. He argues, however, that business deals between the two countries are likely to remain small, as both countries lack the technology and capital to support large scale development.
