In the run up to the October 2013 Georgian elections, this paper offers a thumbnail sketch of the various presidential candidates and examines the country's political parties and their campaigning platforms. It also discusses what is at stake in the election and how the new constitutional amendments will change the configuration between the president and prime minister.
