This paper explores the domestic, external, historic and contemporary factors that have enabled dialogue, peacebuilding, and transitional reform in Yemen after the country's Arab Spring upheavals. It also recommends some practical steps that Yemen could take—and that the author believes the international community should encourage and support—to achieve greater stability and prevent recurring cycles of violence in the country.
