The study examines the economic development of and Norway’s economic links to Asia. In particular, it analyzes Asia’s position in the world economy, the variation of economies within Asia, Norway’s economic relations with the continent and implications of Asia’s growth for Norway's trade policy. The authors explain that while Asia has grown to be a major global economic player, Norway has maintained its share in the foreign trade of some of the key economic powers in the region, enabling the country to expand its economy and maintain a balance of trade with the continent.
