This report discusses the future of cooperation between the police forces of Australia and Indonesia. In particular, the authors first describe the history of cooperation between the two forces over the past few decades and analyze how this relationship benefited law enforcement in both countries as well as their bilateral ties and their regional objectives. They then outline a strategy for the future of the police-to-police relationship, including how to overcome the damage to relations created by Australia's spying on Indonesian officials as well as how to improve cooperation over the long term.
