This paper discusses the recovery of Spanish direct investment abroad after the economic recession that started in 2009. The author first traces the development of Spain's investments abroad since the 1960s. He then looks at Spanish investments since 2012 and notes that the most promising area for investment lies in the infrastructure sector.
