This paper examines how, despite some notable political, economic and social achievements, Spain has not gotten rid of its stereotypical image of being a country in seemingly permanent fiesta and siesta. The author argues that Madrid has to be proactive in changing this image and more "serious" in order to boost exports and make the country known for other achievements.
