This issue contains articles on various aspects of former Brazilian President Lula's term in office from 2003 to 2011 and his political party, the Brazilian Workers Party (PT). Among other things, they address 1) the development of social policy in Brazil; 2) the participation of civil society President Lula's government; and 3) the implications of corruption allegations for the PT and democracy in Brazil.
