This bulletin examines 1) how India has attempted to revitalize its economic ties with East Asia since the initiation of its Look East Policy in 1991; and 2) the potential implications of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) - which will establish free trade agreements between India, Australia, New Zealand and major East Asian, such as China - for India. The author particularly focuses on the concerns that businesses in India have over the establishment of the RCEP and how trade between India and China could affect Indian manufacturing firms.
