This article examines the threat of climate change to food security in Europe as well as the policies European countries and the EU have implemented to tackle this problem. The author contends that although Europe has a largely temperate climate and is comparatively less vulnerable to the effects of climate change than other regions in the world, it is far from immune to the effects of climate change and food insecurity. Consequently, this is why the region’s states are now promoting self-sufficiency, climate-resilient agricultural practices and sustainable consumption.
