This analysis looks at the results from the Third World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), which occurred in Sendai, Japan, in March 2015. More specifically, the analysis' authors look at 1) the history of international agreements, cooperation and coordination on DDR; 2) the pluses and minuses of the Sendai Agreement, to include its limited monitoring provisions; and 3) the opportunities Switzerland has to take a stronger post-Sendai leadership role in DDR.
