This article looks at the role the Baltic countries can play in helping the EU engage with the former Soviet space. The author first discusses Russia's attempts to gain influence in these countries and compares these to what he sees as the EU's own "lackluster" approach. He argues that the Baltic countries are uniquely qualified to make up this deficit and counter Moscow’s increasingly negative propaganda about the ‘mistreatment’ of Russian-speaking minorities.
