This paper analyzes the international engagement in the regional conflicts in the South Caucasus. The author argues that international involvement in Azerbaijan and Georgia has had practical and normative aspects, which all helped contribute to the overall development of the region. The paper also highlights the relevance of ideational aspects in the South Caucasus and details their importance in the region.
