This paper examines the obstacles impeding the regional integration of the Javakheti Region in Georgia. The study presents its analysis based on field reports on the social, economic and political situation in two districts in southern Georgia. The author identifies the problems of integration on a local level and also assesses participation of international organizations in this process.
