This publication addresses Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei's Middle East policy, and argues that this policy radicalizes the region by preventing Israel and conservative Arab states to form an alliance against Iran. The author considers that Iran cannot use the Hizbollah against the US, but needs to rely increasingly on allies such as Iraqi Shia and states such as Venezuela and North Korea. Other issues discussed in this paper are President Ahmadinejad's Holocaust denial and the international response to it, pan-Islamism as well as Iran's regional strategy.
