This report describes three projects that illustrate how Muslim scholars in three countries are addressing critical contemporary issues from an Islamic perspective. The author argues that the relationship between Sharia law, justice and sustainable plural democracy must be examined objectively. The paper concludes that Islam and the application of Islamic principles to modern realities are under active review and subject to intense debate.
