This report presents the major questions and themes brought to light during the USIP conference "The United Nations, The United States, and Peacekeeping Operations: Africa". The paper examines and analyzes the Brahimi Report, outlines the changing nature of UN peacekeeping and addresses the state of affairs in sub-Saharan Africa. Subsequently, the paper comments on peacekeeping operations in Africa and the US policy toward the continent. The paper finds that the Brahimi Report is a landmark document on the US foreign policy scene.
