This study 1) identifies 12 key strategic issues where India’s and the US’ policies happen to coincide, and 2) explains the reasons why New Delhi’s and Washington’s policies happen to converge or diverge from each other. Overall, the text’s author concludes that India’s policies have a “moderate” level of converge with those of the US, which means that American policymakers should expect it to be a friendly strategic partner but not necessarily a close ally.
