This publication looks at the threat posed by the Islamic State (IS) and other global jihadist groups in India as well as the wider region. More specifically, the text’s author addresses 1) the weaknesses of global jihadist groups in India, including the reasons for their limited success in recruiting members in the country; 2) trends an patterns in radicalization and recruitment efforts by IS, and 3) IS’ current state of mobilization in India and the threat the group may pose in the future.
